Bob Baron presents Weather in Motion at U.S. Space & Rocket Center
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center debuted a new exhibition called “How We Know the Weather,” created by Bob Baron, founder and CEO of Baron Critical Weather Institute. Through 30 interactive displays, the STEM-based educational attraction examines the science of weather and the instruments used to measure forecasting, from satellites to radar technology.
Baron is fondly remembered by longtime Huntsville residents as the popular and accomplished chief meteorologist at WAAY TV. After a series of devastating tornadoes hit Huntsville in 1989, Baron went on to develop tornado and severe weather detection technology that saved lives across the country. Baron was recently inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame.
